May 2021 Newsletter
With 30 June approaching, this month’s newsletter includes a number of useful planning considerations and quizzes to help guide you and improve your financial circumstances.
We have also included company announcements and client reminders that are important for all Bellwether clients to review. If you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact us at 08 9225 4462 or respond to this email.
Internal Business Restructure
We wish to advise that Bellwether has undergone an internal business restructure and a new business entity called Bellwether Perth CBD Pty Ltd has been established. You will begin to see our new company name on future correspondence. Please be assured this change will have no effect on any superannuation, pension, investment or insurance policies you have with us. The reason for the change is to separate our business from our licensee and this not have any affect on our clients – you can still expect the same services and high level of professionalism from our entire team.
Reminder: Minimum Pension Payment Reset
The temporary 50% reduction to minimum payments from Account Based Pensions ends on 30 June 2021. For those currently participating, your payments will increase to the full minimum amount from 1 July 2021.
End of Financial Year Planning
Lastly, with the end of financial year fast approaching, it may pay to look at strategies to boost your superannuation and perhaps receive some personal tax benefits.
This year the Concessional Contribution limit is $25,000 (including your employer Superannuation Guarantee Contributions) and therefore, you may have scope to top-up to the limits. If you have not reached the $25,000 limit in the last few years, you may also be able to ‘catch up’ on any unused contributions and contribute more than the $25,000 limit! This is a good strategy to consider if you have had a high income year.
Please contact your adviser to discuss your eligibility.
Be aware that if you intend to make a contribution via cheque, many superannuation funds will need to have received this a few days prior to the June 30 deadline, ensuring proceeds are cleared in time.
Thank you, and we look forward to continuing to bring order to your finances, build stability and help you make the most out of life.
