Government Assisted Aged Care Homes
There are certain questions to consider when looking at Government assisted aged care homes.
- What do you pay – Is it a basic daily fee, an income tested fee, or an accommodation payment?
- How do you pay – a lump sum Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD), a Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP), or a combination of both?
- Should you sell or rent the family home?
Private Retirement Accommodation
As well as Government subsidised aged care homes, there are many private retirement accommodation options. Private retirement accommodation is fully funded by the individual.
